Personal Monitor is a free program that helps you monitor the websites that you visit. It has a toolbar on your desktop that lets you control your firewall settings and clear out your recycle bin, but you can also download a new version of the software for free. Many webmasters use this software because it helps them to determine the statistics of their site visitors and not only make money off their websites, but also use the software to figure out which links on their site should be considered high traffic or low traffic and which links should be overlooked. Many people are wary of software like this because it is free, but they are wrong. Personal Monitor is also very easy to use and offers a very comprehensive report of all the information it collects.
When you download the application, you can install it by clicking the icon on your desktop. The application shows up as an icon that looks like a computer running Windows 98. Click the icon and click on the program options. On the next page, you will be asked to save the configuration file. Click on "Save" and then click on "OK" to start the program.
When you launch the program, your computer's desktop will appear. On the left side of the desktop is a folder called Applications, and in the folder there is a subfolder for each of the applications you have installed on your computer. In the Personal Monitor application there is a folder called "com.refog.monitor", and the folder contains a file named "com.refog.monitor.exe". Open the file with your word processor program and copy the following text: c:\windows\system32\config\com.refog.monitor. You will be prompted for a user name and password and you will be asked to choose a location where you want to save the program. Then you need to select the installation type. You need to browse to the Windows directory in the folder you created and click on the "install" button to start the installation process.
